Shelves of classics organized by time periods and topics. I'll be working on reading and reviewing them with a one word/one sentence summary, book history, and topics to think about.

Gideon Cutpurse Series (Book 1)

Gideon the Cutpurse - Linda Buckley-Archer

I'll make this short. It was alright. Most of the time I wavered back and forth between putting the book away without finishing it or just ploughing through. It really wasn't bad. It just wasn't my cup of tea. I still haven't decided if I'll read the sequel to finish the cliffhanger. Probably not.

The Art of War - Thomas Cleary, Sun Tzu

It's a classic. It's a quick read. Obviously some tactics outdated because of modern warfare and scientific knowledge, but still fun to read. Mostly I love applying what I read to my favorite ninja turtles character, Leonardo.

Mulan and Art of War

The Art of War - Thomas Cleary, Sun Tzu

Did they get the Be a Man lyrics from Art of War?

17. Let your rapidity be that of the wind, your compactness that of the forest.

18. In raiding and plundering be like fire, is immovability like a mountain.

"For I do not believe God means us thus to divide life into two halves - to wear a grave face on Sunday, and to think it out-of-place to even so much as mention Him on a week-day. Do you think He cares to see only kneeling figures and to hear only tones of prayer - and that He does not also love to see the lambs leaping in the sunlight, and to hear the merry voices of the children, as they roll amoung the hay? Surely their innocent laughter is as sweet in His ears as the grandest anthem that ever rolled up from the "dim religious light" of some solemn cathedral?"
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll

Lewis Carroll's Easter Letter to Children

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll
"“Lastly, she pictured to herself how this same little sister of hers would, in the after-time, be herself a grown woman; and how she would keep, through all her riper years, the simple and loving heart of her childhood: and how she would gather about her other little children, and make their eyes bright and eager with many a strange tale, perhaps even with the dream of Wonderland of long ago: and how she would feel with all their simple sorrows, and find a pleasure in all their simple joys, remembering her own child-life, and the happy summer days.”"
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll
""but it's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.""
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll
"... he had never had to do such a thing before, and he wasn't going to begin at his time of life."
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll
"'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.
'I don't much care where-" said Alice
'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.
'--so long as I get somewhere,' Alice added as an explanation.
'Oh, you're sure to do that,' said the Cat, 'if you only walk long enough.'
"
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll
"I shall only look up and say, 'Who am I, then? Tell me that first, and then, if I like being that person, I'll come up: if not, I'll stay down here till I'm somebody else'."
